American Rapper, Young Dolph Shot And Killed Inside Cookie Shop In Tennessee

American rapper, Adolph Robert Thornton Jr, better known by the stage name of Young Dolph, has been shot and killed inside a cookie shop in the city of Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Chicago-born rapper, who was 36 years old, was fatally shot and killed while trying to purchase some cookies inside a cookie shop in Memphis. According to an eye witness at the cookie shop, Young Dolph had entered the cookie shop, known as Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies, to buy some cookies when a man drove up and fatally shot the rapper. The police have not been able to identify the suspect yet.

“He was inside Makeda’s and somebody just rolled upon him and took his life” a cousin of the rapper known as Mareno Myers said. According to Myers, the rapper had been visiting an aunt who was sick and had also been handing out Thanksgiving turkeys to people.

There had been several attempts on the rapper’s life in the past when he received three gunshot wounds in 2017 after a fight in Los Angeles. His car was also sprayed with bullets more than 100 times earlier that year while in North Carolina. Young Dolph later revealed that he had survived that attempt on his life due to the bulletproof panels installed in his car.

After the shooting, police were seen standing guard outside a restaurant owned by fellow rapper, Yo Gotti, in Memphis in an attempt to prevent any retaliatory shooting since Gotti was a rival of Young Dolph. We do not know if this incident is related to Yo Gotti at the moment.

Rappers and fellow musicians have since paid tribute to Young Dolph. The rapper was known for several hits and albums such as Gelato and Rich Slave.
