Lionel Messi Gets Ghanaian Name As He Signs For Kotoko Football Club

After the news went viral that Argentinian football star, Lionel Messi has parted ways with his career-long club FC Barcelona, many fans have been wondering where the player will ply his trade next.

Messi is one of the most expensive players to sign in world football currently. However, this has not deterred African teams from hoping to land the player who has been labeled by many as the greatest footballer of all time. But it seems like one of the biggest teams in Ghanaian football, Asante Kotoko Football Club, looks to be the destination for Messi.

This was after a poster of Messi in the club’s jersey went online with the caption “He is coming home” written above the player’s head. Looking down, one can also see that the player has even been given a Ghanaian name to make his stay in the country more comfortable while he played for the team. Welcome, Lionel Opoku Agyemang Messi.

The question here is, will Kotoko be able to pay Lionel Messi’s salary even if he decided to sign for them?
