President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo, has stated that his government will be creating over 1 million jobs in the country in the next 3 years.
The president stated that plans for the said move will be revealed in parliament by the minister of finance, Ken Ofori Atta, on 29th July. The job creation will project will fall under the covid-19 Alleviation and Revitalization of Enterprises Support (Ghana cares) program and this will happen over a period of 3 years.
“As has been well-publicized, a few days ago, the minister of finance granted financial clearance to the ministry of education and the security services for the recruitment of some 11,000 people to beef up their operations. It does not end there. We will through interventions to be set out in the mid-year budget review announce plans for the creation of some 1 million jobs under Ghana cares ‘obaatampa project over the course of the next 3 years” the president said
